The MS .Net Utility has the following characteristics:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Advanced Server as basic operating system.
- The highest possible guaranteed availability during Prime Time.
- Set up in accordance with the guidelines applied by Microsoft Systems Architecture Internet Data Center and Microsoft Solution for Windows-based Hosting version 2 concerning such matters as network segmentation, Microsoft ISA Server utilisation, configuration of application servers, setup of Directory Servers, security and application isolation.
- Isolated application environments, to prevent applications from affecting one another.
- Separate test, acceptance and production environments. Release Management facilitates this segregation, while application and operating system fixes and service packs can also be installed in a stringently controlled manner.
- Support whenever you independently perform Release Management using FTP to test and production environments for content such as html pages and photos.
- Support for basic authentication (user ID and password), strong authentication (client certificates), Integrated Windows Authentication and Passport Authentication.
- Load balancing, including configuration of sticky sessions if required.
An organisation connected to the Siennax .Net-utility is supplied with the following, as standard:
- One acceptance and one production application server cluster.
- One fixed public IP-address for the production environment and one for the acceptance environment.
- One DNS entry.
- Incoming and outgoing Internet traffic, HTTP and HTTPS.
- Failsafe network storage.
- Use of SMTP relay servers for outgoing eMail, including virus scanning.
- Daily backup of content, such as uploads, in both the production and acceptance environments' application files.
The following options are also available:
- Load & performance tests.
- The use of directory servers for storage of user accounts.
- Authentication by means of proxy servers. This option does, however, rely on the storage of user accounts on Siennax directory servers.
- Facilities for provisioning and management of user accounts on directory servers.
- Database services.
- One FTP account per organisation, configured for uploading static files to the application file.
- Server Certificates for HTTPS access.
