Managed Servers

Siennax can provide a server as a so-called managed server, which has an operating system installed and a number of basic facilities.

The Managed VServer includes the following features:

  • Physical location of equipment in certified Data Center. This includes:
    • Placement in locked 19” racks
    • Fail-safe UPS power
    • Physical access protection and full video monitoring of all activities near racks
    • Double power cables cross-cable connected to separate power groups
    • Advanced fire protection.
  • 1 Gbyte, extendable to 16
  • 1 CPU extendable to 4
  • Choice of Operating system: Windows 2003 advanced server; or SUSE, RH or Slackware Linux
  • Placement in generic VLAN (shielded from other segments and internet by managed firewalls)
  • Network connection to Siennax managed network, Cisco Gbit equipment,.
  • 1 fixed public IP address if needed for internet access
  • 1 public DNS domain, optional domain registration, including use of forwarding DNS server.
  • Inbound Internet access 50Gb/month over Siennax Internet backbone (Open ports: HTTP, HTTPS)
  • SSH access for Linux systems or Remote Desktop for Windows systems from fixed IP addresses
  • In case of multiple managed servers: inbound HTTP(S) Load-balancing via Cisco CSM included.
  • Outbound SMTP relay server for outbound mail, offering virus scan on all outbound SMTP traffic.
  • Core system availability monitoring (basic package: hardware, OS, 1 URL).
  • Daily backup of system disk (application specific content optional).
  • Off-site tape storage for system disks or (optional) other content.

  • Siennax or Verisign Server Certificate for HTTPS access.
  • Inbound HTTP(S) forwarding through Siennax Proxy Servers for increased security.
  • Basic Authentication by Siennax Proxy Servers. This feature requires users and credentials to be managed in LDAP or Active Directory.
  • Strong Authentication by Siennax Proxy Servers, if combined with LDAP server and PKI.
  • POP, IMAP, MAPI (exchange) Mailboxes
  • Including in software update cycles: including kernel/os upgrades, recommended updates, hot fixes, safety patches etc.
