The platform, using mainstream application servers like BEA Weblogic or JBoss, has been set up in such a manner as to enable large and smaller applications to operate simultaneously, without affecting one another. Siennax monitors the transaction load and extends the capacity if necessary.

Siennax also offers a release & migration environment within the Java EE Utility, which guarantees the optimum performance, robust operation and continuous user accessibility of production versions of your Java EE applications.

The Siennax Java EE Utility offers:

  • Linux servers running current releases of mainstream application servers:
    • BEA Weblogic Server
    • JBoss Application Server
  • The highest possible guaranteed availability during Prime Time.
  • Separate development, test, acceptance & production environments. Release Management facilitates this segregation, while application and operating system fixes and service packs can also be installed in a stringently controlled manner.

  • Full support for basic and strong authentication in combination with OpenLDAP.
  • Access to the OpenLDAP directory from the application servers by means of LDAP connection pools.
  • Traffic forwarding via redundant Apache servers, with SSL support.
  • Load balancing for the application servers, proxy servers and web servers.
  • Access to middleware facilities and standard applications from the application servers.
  • Access to (optional) Oracle databases via Oracle connection pools and JDBC.
  • Access to (optional) Microsoft SQL Server databases via JDBC.

An organisation is implemented on the Java EE Utility as follows:

  • One acceptance and one production domain.
  • One fixed IP address for the production environment and one for the acceptance environment.
  • One DNS domain, including the use of a forwarding DNS server for the production environment.
  • A sub-domain is configured for the acceptance environment.
  • Incoming and outgoing Internet traffic; HTTP and HTTPS.
  • SMTP relay server for outgoing email, including virus scanning.
  • Daily backup.
